Lake Washington Ship Canal and Locks

We decided to be tourists today so we went to Ballard, north of Seattle. This canal connects saltwater Puget Sound with freshwater Lakes Union and Washington. Fun to watch the boats making their way through the locks. They also have a salmon ladder to watch the fish. There's a botanical garden adjacent to the locks but we got a late start and I was hungry, so I opted for lunch instead. We will go back to see the gardens on another day.
